the statistics that he’s the only president in recent history to have not dropped a bomb or aided/ordered a war to deal with issues he knew could be solved with no bloodshed are what make him the most human and deservingly respected men to ever hold the title of president in the united states.
that, and his continued peace work and criticism of the country, war, and leaders after his presidency. he’s actively used the platform given to him from his political career to still try to make the changes he couldn’t quite get to in office. i mean, what other modern presidents can you recall using their time in office as a mere stepping stone to bigger things. he has consistently critiqued all presidents after him, and policies the country has held up. he’s called the title of president of the united states that of the same as running a war state. name one other guy in his position saying that.
absolutely badass. and a dylan fan. and also probably the nicest guy in the world. damn is it hard not to love jimmy carter.
