This movie really gave you everything just to take it away at the end. Is this who we are, is this what we stand for.
In all seriousness I think this movie accurately shows the struggle of how you truly feel and how society expects you to feel. He loved so deeply and yet could still feel that Kyoichi was fully set in him most likely due to the stigma and like of union. In the end Kyoichi chooses him and accepts the fact that he might have to wait his whole life for him. I think it’s beautiful and shows the growth of conditional love to unwavering and unconditional love.
