First, I found this dug deeply into Steve’s skull and I think that’s beautiful.
Surprisingly gory, genuinely creepy, and hits the spooky 80s charm hard. Hell, if I wasn’t still basking in the afterglow of Superstition... Again, I think it comes down to the fact that I prefer slashers masquerading as haunted house flicks to the real thing. I get that on a chewed up troma tape this might be hard to love. For a low budget effort, there’s oodles of charm and it hits its tone with laser precision. It’s a bit shaggy, so viewer beware. I just have to overlook a lot of faults because the gags are solid and I had a lot of fun watching it.
There are dead dudes in the house but only one tombstone and no hill.
