My first Guru Dutt film! I know, maybe I should have started off with his other two better-known films but mom wanted to rewatch Aar Paar so she could revisit some of her favourite popular songs from the film.
There’s no doubt Guru Dutt was talented as hell, though, somehow this didn’t quite hit home for me. It switched tone quite often - going from noir to comic relief to romance drama and back to noir and that probably irked me. But it comes full circle well and I love how Guru Dutt goes all Baby Driver in the end lol. Can’t wait to watch to Pyaasa and Kaagaz ke Phool.
