I appreciate that they didn't put any "action scenes" out of respect for the victims, the film still manages to get its point across. Parallels to Bonnie & Clyde is here, Natural Born Killers is felt, but whereas those type of films are more glorified and romanticized, Il Capitano is bleak, dark as night, and realistic.
I don't think they could have told the story about these two individuals any better.
