CHURULI is absolutely confusing, but great experimental cinema if you keep your expectations grounded. In its first hour, this felt like a buddy cop film where two police officers go into a hilly Kerala village and get into all sorts of schenanigans i.e slapping competition and getting chased by an old lady with an axe. You know how it ends so it feels all the more impressive. After the movie, I had to go online to read what the plot was actually about, so based viewing; had a good time with this.
