There’s something about the first two acts that I find so appealing and enjoyable. Getting a look into the lives of the crew prior to the disaster on paper may seem tedious and uninteresting but the way the crew’s struggles were shown was really well written. Specifically whether intentional or not i really enjoyed Igor/Tamara’s relationship with color when in Igor’s apartment. Igor and Tamara’s breakup scene genuinely may be my favorite scene ever, I can’t put my finger on as to why I like it so much but i really really do. The third act I think simply struggles with not holding up due to the lack of technology that was available at the time. I think the usages of miniatures was used well, I have simply been spoiled with 2010/20 CGI technology. Even then despite the visual “shortcomings” if you can even call it that, the disaster portion just kept ramping up and up and up with the danger, thought it’d never end. A very very good movie
