okay so i saw that the Heard Islands was on the Letterboxd map and wanted to cross it off, but honestly despite being a few minutes this was so cool!!
i had never actually heard of the Heard Islands (ironic ik) but this was so interesting that it was used as a base camp for Antarctica, to think this was really from the 1940's is amazing. The commentary was very much appreciated and the animals were my favourite part, seeing how friendly the penguins are just made my day. Learning that they have to use violet ray treatments to compensate for the lack of sun was actually fascinating, i wonder to what capacity the equipment for this has improved over the years
