Watched for all of the classic Chicago locations, such as the Elgin Street Diner and Happy Goat Coffee Company, which are definitely located in Chicago and not Ottawa. Weird that the streets all had kilometres-per-hour signs, not sure how that happened in a movie that was definitely set in Chicago.

Credit where credit is due, the "after Christmas, pre-New Years" timeframe is a good time period for a movie like this.

I guess the thing I don't get about this genre of movies is that the dude is such a bitter pill. I know a lil' something about emotionally unavailable men and this guy is right in the deep end. Leave him!

I just love cheesy romcoms with the best friends who fake date. They cure depressions and drop the cortisol levels in your brain and make for nice and cozy entertainment for the holidays!

The dialogues were a bit stiff but I was surprised at the emotional awareness of the majority of the characters.

I won’t discuss costuming, I’ll just say they were choices.

Overall, they had some chemistry and it was sweet to see the jazz element incorporated into it.

4 days in an I'm already watching the cheap, cliched, crappy Christmas movies. Or in this case more of a New years eve movie, but it's the same thing, at least according to Netflix.

I could write more about the movie, but at the end of the day, my review would just become as cliched as the movie itself. If you've seen one you've seen them all. Of course you know what's gonna happen before the movie begins and yes the things these movies say about love can be quite iffy, but they have their purpose. It's a crappy Christmas movie, but for me, Christmas wouldn't be complete without watching a couple of them. Also make me appreciate the good ones more
