The OVA had a presentation that made it seem like it was based on pre-existing lore or a spin-off of an anime. Edit: Is what I said until I found that it was based off a video game.
However, it was a unique creation—a one-of-a-kind mash-up that combined elements of Japanese, Viking, Egyptian mythology into a tech-horror anime. Despite its unconventional blend, I found it enjoyable.
The soundtrack was pretty solid too!
