what worked:-rural punjab as backdrop-shabana azmi playing thag strong punjabi massi. playing this archtype so well that we all know who she is. -shivangi-elements of horror-no reliance to cheap jump scares -nothing is fully explained so at the end youre stringing  up the loose ends urself... makes u rhink

what didnt work:-there were some scenes that made me cringe, especially between the married couple-the “child” ghost-the lore and subplot shld hAve been stretched-

This was visually pleasing, cinematography is great. Acting is great because Shabana Azmi is in it. And she proves time and again why she is one of the greatest actress in Bollywood (if not EVERYWHERE). 

But the main thing that this film lacks is a direction. The direction of storytelling. For me, the story felt flat. Stuff happened that wasn’t explained well (even if it was, it wasn’t clear). Some of the things on here happened and then was never visited again. Kinda all over the place. 

Overall, the message of female infanticide is great and important but I wish the writing was a bit more sharp, a bit more intelligent and shaped. We need more horror films like this and Bulbbul from India. Netflix, keep making horror films like this!
