This was pretty cute. Nowhere near as good as the original in my opinion cause man this movie plays everything so so safe. It’s not bad by any means but it’s just your average kids movie. The first Yokai War is very unique and super weird but this one just plays everything a little too safe and it just makes for a pretty generic movie overall but I kind of enjoyed it.
The final half is without a doubt the best part of the movie, that’s when it starts to be weird and creative and fun. Great CGI in this movie too and overall it’s really pretty to look at AND THE SOUNDTRACK THE SOUNDTRACK IS AMAZING. I do really like that Ryunosuke Kamiki makes a cameo here cause he was the kid in the original film and honestly the new kid, Kokoro Terada, does a pretty good job playing the new character here.
This is a pretty alright movie and I would recommend it if you like the first one but don’t get your hopes tooo too high cause the first yokai war was just so good.
