This short was just pure ‘slice of life’ fun. Homecoming of an older (lovingly naggy) Chinese couple’s son from Taiwan, who surprises them with his new Taiwanese fiance. Although, it seems like there’s some tension and reluctance from both parents, we’re brought to realize that it was all just a matter lf adjusting to their new prospects. It was heartwarming to watch the mother warm up to her son’s fiance eventhough it was quite clear early on that it would spell for even less frequent visits to Malaysia from him. How the son quickly realized that all his father wants is his son (being his authentic self and obidiently taking pointers/advice/guidance from him) without the fancy frills of being the prodigal son from abroad.
