this was worthwhile for sure, but it might be the worst of the trilogy, unfortunately. the yokai are barely in it. instead, it favors a more fleshed out-human plot about a girl on a quest to find her dad while evading criminals. it got a little too slap-sticky for my liking at times, but i enjoyed this arch as a whole. i didn’t expect the soap opera-esque plot twists at the end, but i certainly welcomed it. lastly, even though the yokai were barely in it, their more serious and ghostly presence was mostly a welcomed change compared to the last film. while i prefer how the yokai were presented in spook warfare, this new direction fits the plot better
