For a second I was like, “wow, Shane has actually improved a lot in his visual work since Not Cool”, but then I saw that it was the same director for Logan Paul’s The Thinning… but at least he’s letting other people take the creative reigns for his work.
There’s not much to comment on other than the fact that it was meant to promote his book, and it acknowledges his controversial past through some self deprecation (and maybe some not-so aged well self awareness).
The idea of an old fan wanting his role model to go back to their roots is actually a good idea, and maybe could’ve been explored more - as a way of establishing how people change for the better or worse.
The acting is decent for most of the cast, except Shane didn’t act much different to when he did skit videos (even acting like he’s Sheldon Cooper at times), and Joey Graceffa just looked bored.
I’ve seen a few reviews being mad that Shane killed off Trisha Paytas really soon… like y’all do realise that Trisha Paytas is Not Like Us too, right?
I still don’t understand how Shane survived that stabbing.
