Madres has a few things that save it from being a complete dumpster fire: an eerie and unsettling atmosphere, an interesting location and it doesn’t rely heavily on the supernatural.
But… that’s it.
The script is bad and plagued with major plot holes, which is a shame considering the real life events are so historically important and significant. The exposition during the end credits would’ve been more impactful had the film and the subject matter been better taken care of.
I will not expand on the acting, but I’ll just say there were a few scenes that forced me to look down in shame.
