I’ve been duped into watching a Christian film! And not even a good one! Very on brand given it’s about a white man who brutally murders his wife and child - why exactly does he do this? It’s not important. Is his wife relevant beyond being a disposable tool to demonstrate how all the actions of violent men are forgivable? No. Is the child even really mentioned? No. Who is the victim of this story? The man! Duh! Is the man at any fault for his actions? Not really - it’s just the darkness and we all make mistakes right? Although I personally have never bludgeoned, stabbed, strangled, and killed - but hey that’s just me! Totally vapid, empty, misogynistic, vaguely racist, poorly written and directed, unpleasant watch on every level.
