KCFF 2022 Film #6
For a 90 minute film, The Boathouse feels a lot longer. The story is an interesting one. Anne is a masters student studying music. She takes a job as a nanny for the family of her supervising professor, Natalia, who is away in Europe. Anne is taking anxiety meds for a car crash she was in and the medication starts to mess with her mind, and makes her sleepwalk and hear things.
Unfortunately the movie takes a little while to get going and while I don't mind a slower movie, the slow parts aren't interesting enough. The last 10 minutes really come out of nowhere and seems out of place.
