Haven’t seen the first and I wish I hadn’t seen this one either

This movie is awesome. Might be the worst movie I have ever seen. But damn was it incredible. 

My roommates and I bought a massive geeked ass poster for our room as a joke. And we decided to watch it together night one of moving in. Great watch.

This movie makes literally no sense. It directly contradicts IMPORTANT story points from the first movie and there’s an entire scene devoted to explaining how much the lore is absolute gobbledygook. And I watched the version that was supposedly SALVAGED after years of work because the original cut was an even bigger mess!

All that said? I enjoyed it WAY more than the first one! Don’t get me wrong, the first one is three stars because it’s a functioning movie, but this one is three stars because it’s so much fun in spite of not functioning at all. Lambert is full 95 Mortal Kombat mode. The fights are crazier, the effects are the good kind of bad, and the “story” is nonsense. Apparently the original cut didn’t have the opening text that explains everything and it involved an alien planet? Why??

Highlander 2 is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen and maybe the worst sequel I’ve ever seen. Seriously, this is one of those movies where every creative decision is terrible and it baffles one’s mind in how it ever got produced. I like the first movie, but it’s no masterpiece but it has its charm and you could tell the people making it actually cared about it. This movie makes the original look like Citizen Kane. There’s not even any new songs for the movie by Queen, so it doesn’t even have a decent soundtrack like the original.
