Another movie where Fredric March just absolutely goes through it. A bleak and honest pre-code picture about the mental toll and immense guilt of war. March is incredible as always and Cary Grant balances off of him very well. Though don't go in expecting much Carole Lombard as she's only in one sequence.

Pourquoi on donne du gaz à des films de guerre naze quand Hollywood faisait ça ?

It’s tragic how the determination of his hatred for war is met with complete apathy from everyone. Nobody cares and nobody will care about the things he feels and struggles with.
