tried to remove from my head the assumption na bading sila sa una kahit my gut tells me bc auq mag-assume na every media na may 2 leads na babae ay sapphic pero hehe ;) reallyy thought this was gonna take on an environmental awareness theme at first o kaya papakita yung background ni maria ganon pero was happy to see it take the audience on an adventure around elbi instead!
maingay ang elbi kahit maliit. minsan fast-paced, kadalasan mabagal oras. so-so progressive at conservative. pero kahit ganon nga, elbi made me discover myself. anyway ang point ko lang is when i watched this film, i saw lots of similarities when compared with my own experience of living here my whole life. nakakatakot pa ring mamuhay bilang bading dito. and kuha talaga nito yung sapphic experience of falling in love in elbi y'all. maybe these are the reasons why this came out as the buhayelbi film i felt the closest to.
and sa elbi, hindi ka naman kasi bumabalik dahil sa lugar. bumabalik ka dahil sa tao. :)
