Young Tyrone Power tho ❤️ (incredible to think he was only a year younger than me when he made this)
He and Don Ameche are so gorgeous in this movie (there’s two scenes with them shirtless!). Loretta Young was extremely charming as the very ingenious and winsome heiress that gives Power a run for his money after he tries to get a scoop out of her.
Another reporter romantic comedy and I enjoyed it quite a lot even if they could've flashed out better the relationship between Power’s reporter and Young’s heiress. Their chemistry was so on point though. They’re amazing together. And he brings a youthfulness and cheekiness to the reporter that sets his character apart from other newspaper men from that era. He lacks the cynicism of Clark Gable’s Peter Warne and the viciousness of Cary Grant’s Walter Burns. He instead brings to the table more of a boyish charm and mischievous attitude. Cute and funny, a sure rewatch.
