Regional, low budget anthology that leads with a shopworn urban legend. Spends a lot of time in the wraparound - hell, I forgot this was an anthology after a while. Some of the characters are pretty unpleasant.
All that, and I still dug this quite a bit. The opening audio over the credits is effective, there’s some real creepy menace to the gas station stop on the way to the cabin, and, despite the acting, a weird naturalism is achieved that bolsters the minimalist dread. Shaggy but charming.
