danielle galligan had about three minutes of screen time and it was easily the best performance in the whole film. equally, (niamh mccormack also did the best she could with a bit part in a horrible movie.) dialogue was all over the place and the acting was equally bad. having your only black characters all implicated in the bullying of the lesbian lead character is an insanely dated choice, even by irish standards. felt like every five minutes we were being assaulted by random plot twists that never got readdressed. lily’s self harm was mostly ignored. young queer teens were being pimped out by creepy groomers. simon was inexplicably hit by a car, i fucking guess? and his bandaged arm switched to the other arm in the next scene so that was fine. also violet was in desperate need of a fucking slap.
