No seriously. Great subjects, great interviews, just a very nice atmosphere as a whole. Kenny G is a very entertaining and knowledgeable person who’s pretty easy to attach yourself to no matter what opinion you have on his music. I knew next to nothing about the guy going in and you don’t need to. Penny Lane knows that and wants that to open a much bigger discussion on music criticism and theory, skin-color appropriation amongst artists, the industry progression with sales over the decades, etc. There’s a lot to cover here in 96 minutes, but it’s all done mostly with a breeziness and accessibility that I think most people will be surprised by. See it.
