I have to admit, the plot gets a little confusing for me in Ponniyin Selvan: Part II, but it's still mind-blowingly beautiful and brilliantly shot. Since it carries on from the previous film, it launches straight into the story with no reprieve, which leads to some pacing issues. I think three films instead of two would've worked better with the sheer amount of plot going on, but it is what it is, and Mani Ratnam did a great job regardless. Just like PS-1, it features excellent performances from its cast, especially Vikram and Aishwarya, and an equally stunning wardrobe. And again, I'd highly recommend watching both films if you love historical media, because they're worth it.
