Good watch. Great atmosphere and build up, however muddled a bit at the end. A favourite for sure and something I look forward to recommending and rewatching.

Post-apartheid  South African domestic servitude? Fuck, this was more of a bleak drama than a horror film. I just wished the final two scenes with Diana could have been gnarlier. The final scene was chef’s kiss tho.

Atmospheric and the sound design is immaculate — who knew the sounds of scrubbing bristles could be so terrifying? However the great concept is hampered by clunky pacing and hit or miss direction. I also found it somewhat ironic that a movie about the enduring impacts of apartheid in the domestic setting was directed by a white woman. Her intro to the movie talking about “exorcising” South Africa’s tumultuous past was a bit cringe to say the least.
