Another one I’ve been meaning to revisit for some time. And once again I like it just as much as I did the first time. Slashers, if you have not figured out by now, are my favorite subgenre, especially 80s, but I give props to the tributes as well. This feels like a movie that definitely would have come out back in the day, even though some parts are derivative especially of Black Christmas (let’s not forget, other 80s slashers like Prom Night and Girl’s Nite Out used the creepy whispery phone calls too). Good kills and atmosphere, and surprisingly they didn’t make the sorority sisters so bitchy you were rooting for them to die.
Not perfect, some things definitely could have been better. The Sleeper’s whispery voice is creepy but there are times that the synth score kinda drowns out what he’s saying. Just little nitpicks though.
And I love these little coincidences sometimes. I swear I did not plan a triple feature of Joe Bob Briggs today! Can’t complain 😁
