Never in all my years have I met such an infuriating menu screen. Who's bright idea was it to make the font light up in the exact same color as the font?
Also, this is terrible... Although dramatic pause Something about it is oddly charming (and it ain't just Norman Reedus in a stripey sweater).
Sydney from the Pretender is in it, teaching Mark Boone Junior all faceless man-"valar morghulis" style (no joke, he makes him repeat "I am nothing")...and Eric Roberts (whom you may remember from that one episode of Touched By an Angel) is... well I don't really know what he's doing.
The plot doesn't really follow any guidelines. There's a magic box?
From what I can tell,Nicholson Williams got himself a budget blender in which to puree "I've seen 2 or 3 French films," the great beat poet resurgence of 1999, and the half a page of Descartes he read and voila! The Beatnicks.
