“I don’t think you’re a bad person, Mahree. I just think you have been taught bad things.”
I watched this for my AP World History class and it was pretty good. It was a story of a black American family (specifically focusing on their 13-year-old daughter) and a white South African girl who meet, slowly coming together and learning about the other’s country through conversation and education.
It was based on a true story as well! So it was very educational and informative, focusing on the lens of the apartheid movement in the eyes of America in the 1970s right before and right after Steve Biko was murdered. I would recommend!
