Probably the perfect time period to capture this stuff in. I imagine these types are pursuing fame in grosser, less centralized ways but they’re probably just as vulnerable to predation. Trying to video chat, the limited too, the pre-streaming industry stuff, dianetics, Ellen, Corey, and a million other signifiers that dovetail with the subject matter perfectly.
Anyways, kudos to what could be a really exploitative moral panic doc that captures the kids and parents without tipping too far into “get a load of these weirdos” territory. There are some truly awful people lurking but the main focus is on misguided but genuine people.
