I’m not quite sure why all the reviews here on Letterboxd aren’t necessarily the best, and I find it pretty disrespectful that a lot of people on this app seem to be saying “the short is nothing new, and told in a way we haven’t seen before.” Like, this is a victim talking about an experience they had, told through an animated short. You can feel the pain in her voice as she recounts everything.
The animation here is without a doubt the standout, and helps to profoundly convey the horrors and outright gruesome brutality, tragedy, and side effects of war. It feels like you’re watching a memory you want to forget, and certainly lives up to its name.
