When I heard Terror Train was getting a remake, it piqued my interest. I like the original but there’s some missed opportunities with it, mainly the concept of the killer taking the costumes of his victims. Can you imagine not knowing who is the killer and who isn’t? Also learning it took place on Halloween instead of New Years? Hell yes!
Well unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. First of all, it’s pretty much shot for shot. Not on Gus Van Sant’s Psycho level but the story barely has changed, the dialogue is familiar and even the kills are the same! But wait! There’s a change in the last 20 minutes, but not only is it kinda lame but why would you plagiarize the first hour only to give us your own twist at the end? And man the last shot of the movie, gave me a giggle.
Well, now we know if it’s a Tubi original (check the app out anyway, good variety of stuff that isn’t theirs) and a remake of a Jamie Lee Curtis horror movie (I’ll give Halloween a pass though) it might not be good at all
