yet another horror film with stupid characters that makes the film unintentionally hilarious while also being miserable to sit through. i couldn’t really find much enjoyable about this besides maybe some of the kills but then again they’re all generic and predictable. the writing was pretty lackluster due to the terrible characters because i genuinely was rooting for the villains more than the protagonist.. which if that’s the vibe then great job, but this movie suffers from final girl trope so it loses the ability to create something great especially when the main character is not someone you can really attach to. also this film had pretty terrible pacing and desperately needed more substance/meat on its bones to become better. the performances were screaming low budget and nothing about this was great.. it was just mid good.
overall, the script is just too bad and when coupled together with the other lackluster elements in this film, you get a pretty mid film. i wouldn’t necessarily recommend this film to anyone, but i enjoyed Fire Island (2023) much more than this. the film gets an A for effort though because i’ll never ignore the effort that went into crafting a horror film even if it’s not great.. i want to make horror movies too LMFAO.
