This has to be some High School senior's summer project. The acting is maybe 33% okay and the rest just awful. The story just barely exists and the script has that stilted conversation and lines that no human would say that just scream Amateur Film Maker. All you really need from a slasher though is some fun killls and an imposing killer that feels threatening. Yeah, we don't get any of that. The effects are terrible, the killer is constantly weaponless and vulnerable (which none of these fuckers ever try to capitalize on. One time the killer is knocked down and his axe is like five feet away from him and nobody tries to attack him in the five minutes is takes for him to come to and crawl over to the axe. Another time, the killer is fist fighting one person while the other just watches; help you dumb bitch. Don't just watch him fuck up your friend, fight!), the characters are all annoying and totally helpless, there isn't any real story to anything happening, and I'm really not sure what the ending was supposed to accomplish. I've sat through a lot of awful horror movies that I got from Dollar Tree that were made for ten bucks and are total shit. Final Summer fits right in with them. It has all the hallmarks of a movie made by a group of friends with zero experience and zero money over a few weekends.
