It’s one of those isn’t it?
Let me give you the cycle of 90% of Light novel adaptations:
1. Semi-Unknown Anime Studio finds random Semi-Unknown Light Novel.
2. The Anime studio releases a 12 episode Anime, adapting the first 3 or so volumes, usually skipping many scenes, but still everyone loves it.
3. The show ends, will never get a second season and you have to buy the light novel, what you can’t since it isn’t available anywhere.
Examples of this would be Chivalry of a failed knight, Spice and Wolf and most infamously No game no life. The genius Prince’s guide to raising a nation out of debt falls under those shows. While I do think it’s one of the better ones, the second best one if we only look at the ones I listed here (with Spice and Wolf being the best).
This show came out in a weird time where for some reason more Anime like it, the ,,some lazy guy becomes prince, is the best possible leader and gets all the girls“ Anime were coming out. But this one stands out. I’m a sucker for all the tactical battles. They actually show the ruling a kingdom process here pretty well, Nimm (I think that’s her name) is actually a good character and the Main characters rival also is a good addition, bringing some suspense into the story.
All in all this isn’t a must watch, but it served its purpose and made me want to buy the novel.
