This came out back in 2022, when Arteta was finally starting to build something big for the first time since becoming manager. That season, if we don’t count the catastrophic start, the team was buzzing. Despite the heartbreak of finishing 5th and missing out on a ucl spot, everything felt positive. We didn’t win a trophy, but back then that was totally fine there were no big expectations from the fans.
Then came the past three years, when everything changed. Arsenal came back from those dark years. Fans restored their hope and truly believed this club could win big again. But it hasn’t happened yet. A lot of factors are to blame like injuries, stupid mistakes, and above all the lack of attacking threat, which has only grown worse and hurt us badly last season.
The reason I’m writing this review is because I remembered the beginning of the 22/23 season, and also that time between late January and early April of the 23/24 season. It was perfect. The football played by that team, i think it was the best in the world at the time. The club was shining, everyone was excited, you were actually motivated to watch Arsenal playing.
Which brings us to now. It feels ridiculous that the man who built all this doesn’t seem to believe in it anymore. I think he has his reasons for that, but something is definitely wrong. Even after the mad signings this club did this summer, the football Arteta is playing now is nowhere near what it used to be. Is it because Arsenal became a serious contender and everyone parks the bus against us? Sometimes, yes. But it can't always be the case. It feels like Arteta is afraid of something. Every time we face a top six team, I know I’m in for a painful experience. One of the most terroristic football a fan can watch, some of the most boring and painful I’ve seen Arsenal play in years.
So here we are. Almost four years in, and still with the nothing. Will this season finally be the breaker? If you ask me, I don’t have much hope. But deep down, I genuinely wish this team does it this time and wins something big. Because all these fake hopes and team talks are really starting to get on my nerves.
Please Arsenal do something for the love of God, wallahi i'm tired
Update : March 24th, 2026
Arsenal has lost the carabao cup final to man city, all I have to say is congrats to city of how well they dominated, and I'm hugely disappointed with what happened, I don't see anyone taking the blame but Arteta himself.
That's being said, I do not think Arsenal will win the champions league, I literally have no hopes for it and it's fine, all that matters now is to secure the premier League which isn't over yet, 7 games is a lot to play, hopefully this team doesn't bottle it, because if they did, I might just kms at this point.
*New update since I'm not going to rewatch this shit (April 19th, 2026):
*I'm not sure if anyone will read this since it's been a while since I watched the show, but yeah Arsenal just lost to city again, confirming yet again that we are indeed bottlers, once again city wanted it more. Arteta came to draw, as always and it didn't work for him, as always.
I genuinely do not want Arteta to continue next season, even if he wins anything, I'm sick and tired of how he never learns, always stubborn, it's time for a change, a phase he won't be remembered for anything more than building an unfinished project has passed, yet I'm grateful for how he turned things around, but he has to go. That's being said, I stopped getting mad over this team for the sake of my health, because after all it's not worth it destroying your mental health over bunch of millionaires.
And finally, I believe it's the time for a huge change, a new phase, new manager, new style, I just hope for the best.
