Calling this anything related to SAO has gotta be a disservice since Shangri isn't even an isekai. The plot being a teenage dude who plays shitty games playing a god tier game gives this so much potential and they use it to the fullest. It looks generic, but you gotta trust the process with this. Shout out to ep 15-18, peak fiction back to back.
