I love the way this series is done. The execution of the synched up audio from the original tapes is impeccable and so well done.
Whilst this series does go in depth on the case, it doesn’t provide any conclusion as to the legitimacy of it yet it equally conclude that this is an extreme childish prank being investigated by a grieving and emotionally damaged man. When described like that, the case may seem obviously faked but the series then hits you with more evidence that it wasn’t.
Maurice Grosse’s ideas on the paranormal are highly advanced for 1973 and are weirdly similar to my on theories on the subject of ghosts which was weirdly shocking to hear.
I do think this series could have been condensed down, that final episode brought everything together in a way that I wasn’t expecting and made the length of the show seem worth it.
Also Maurice Grosse may have had that moustache but he also drives an E-Type, so naturally he is one of the coolest people to have lived.
