OH MY GOD.
i still can’t believe it’s already over. watching edits of its pilot trailer on tiktok while longing for any updates feels like it was just yesterday.
when i learned that this series would only have 6 episodes, i was beyond devastated. why wouldn’t i be? i waited almost two years for this, only for it to have barely half the number of episodes that most other series get.
but as each episode dropped every week, i finally accepted and understood why. there weren’t any filler scenes—every single one had significance and contributed to the plot. there were so many symbolisms that i couldn’t keep track of all of them, and i was amazed every time i noticed one.
and as a queer person living in a christian-dominated country, this series hit even harder. the confusion, guilt, fear, and hope constantly clashing within tanrak were portrayed so well. i also loved the stories of the side characters, as each of them became a part of tanrak and barth’s decisions and perspectives throughout the series (the auntie was my favoriteeee).
i’d crucify everyone who wanted this series to have a sad ending, because if it had, the message would’ve been all for nothing.
kudos to p’aof for creating and directing another wonderful series. last twilight, which he also directed, has been my favorite thai bl series of all time, and now another one of his works has found a place close to my heart (it’s close to #1, if it isn’t already).
gemini and fourth really stepped up their game with this one. in this series, i saw so many sides of their talent that i hadn’t seen in their previous works before, and i absolutely loved that for them. ARGH, i can’t wait for another masterpiece from them. but for now, i’ll let this series marinate in my head and heart while i wait for their musical.
