oh my god. this was so unashamedly raw and gritty. practically seeping with self destruction.
paris lees story is truly stripped naked and vulnerable, warts and all. i haven’t seen such a candid queer representation in a long time, and this was perfect to me. i was rooting for her the entire time, even through her faults. she had me crying, laughing and everything in between. i felt so close to all the characters, i liked how it showed both sides to a queer friend group: both the supportive and uplifting parts, as well as the arguments and petty jealousy that are sometimes overlooked. really grounded it in realism. such a poignant snapshot into the life of a working class, trans teenager that i feel like deserves wayyyy more love.
