I love donald glover for this. this is my show.
I am OBSESSED with this show so much. it’s a completely different type of humor that is so surreal and satire and ridiculous. from lemon pepper wet, to B.A.N, to teddy perkins, to woods, to crank dat killa, there are so many moments i could just go on and on about for hours. NO exaggeration.
the finale was perfect too. a perfect, perfect ending to the show. the only thing that is hindering it from a perfect score is some of the episodes surrounding vanessa. no hate to the character, but the episodes i couldn’t really resonate with. still good, but not great. i do love vanessa’s character a lot, the season 3 finale cementing that.
the music selection, the raw fleeting emotion, the acting even— all of it is amazing. there are so much episodes that i say are one of the best until i realize thats just how most of the episodes are.
donald glover is a genius, and a beautiful actor. hiro murai is a genius. i love lakeith stanfields portrayal of darius, and brian tyree henry embodies his character and leans into emotional complexity in alfred, specifically in episodes like woods.
even though there isn’t a strong structure of plot throughout each season, i feel that there doesn’t much need to be. that adds to the flavor. each episode is so unique and a completely different venture.
