Finally found a good copy with subtitles (youtube)! For some reason I thought this was more popular, at least based on its view count (346). But having seen it, I can see why. I liked it and had a good time, but its narrative is a bit bland and its art is noticeably not great at times.
Seems a big mixture of Robocop, Alita Battle Angel, and Cyberpunk Edgerunners by way of early 90s hyper violent anime. Although, it should be said its violence is used sparingly, relative to its genre peers. Arms do get ripped off, but only every 20 mins or so.
I don’t think the oav makes good use of its time. Sometimes I’m not sure how to judge something like this as four episodes or a period of nearly two hours. Regardless, some things are left underexplored. I would have loved to see way more of Mr. Halloween and his mad toys.
A fun gem for die-hards but not going to move the needle much otherwise.
