Would've been great if they had just committed to adapting the novel chronologically. Some of the more surreal elements were literalized in a way that don't entirely lend themselves to the epic scope that the story demands and some were translated in ways that looked quite good when compared to the much lower budget 1994 predecessor. Though even if viewed through a chronological re-edit, I'm not sure a ton could be done to address those aspects or the very 2020s streaming show aesthetic this has for most of its runtime. It's okay if you just want to watch something to generally get across the story of such a great book or even just to get to that coda written by King himself to see where some of our favorite characters end up. But whatever shitty producer demanded they structure the narrative this way needs to be pointed at and ridiculed.
