A Complete Unknown
It’s been over a year since I’ve watched this and I’ve never stopped thinking about it. Now, that might be because of my love for Bob Dylan’s music since watching it, but it also just came at the perfect time for me.
I am still unbelievably mad at the academy for not giving the Oscar to Timmy for this, but I could say that for a lot of performances of his. This one just feels personal to me.
Bob Dylan is such a mythical figure, and to capture him at the most pivotal part of his career is brave. But Mangold and Chalamet do it wonderfully.
Fun Fact: one of my professors found out I loved this movie, and Dylan’s music so she got the author to zoom in for a class one day since he’s a good friend of hers. Thank you Dr. Collins. That meant a lot.
My favorite part of the movie might be the MS Delta Blues player showing back up and handing out sips of his bottle. Very accurate portrayal of people from the Delta, and blues players specifically.
