Don’t get me wrong, this deserves all the Oscar nominations it received, but this movie just isn’t fun to watch at home. This is meant for a theatrical experience and the at home viewing experience just doesn’t cut it. The story isn’t enough to carry you through the whole movie. You need the seat vibrating sound from the beautiful score. You need the light shining through the projector onto the big silver screen. Even with the expanded ratio at home it just isn’t the same. Going to everyone’s favorite third place (the Lincoln Square IMAX) this weekend to run this back while it’s re released. Will report back again.
