An absolute masterpiece. Truly. There’s literally nothing bad to say about this. The acting was impeccable, especially (unsurprisingly) Daniel Day-Lewis, damn. The screenplay was immaculate and there was never a dull moment. The cinematography is so focused and clean. The score is one of the most beautiful film scores I’ve ever heard, truly. I’m quite partial to all Jonny Greenwood scores but this one was sensational. I really want to discuss some of the themes of this but I really think I would need a second watch and some time to digest this so I can properly articulate my thoughts. If I had one word to describe this, it would be pristine.
