**this is his [Coogler’s] magnum opus.
**I have so many emotions, & talking points to say but It’s gonna take time & a second watch for me to write out & express.
“To be young, gifted & black.”- Chadwick Boseman.
•I can’t explain enough what this film sowed into me as a black aspiring filmmaker & screenwriter.
This is so much more than a “vampire movie”.
It was culture, *family—** love & humanity**; depicted through music, & historical ties to us as a people & the afterlife & eternal damnation; it was a movie for the books.
•Sammy’s performance & the musical resurrection scene was so overwhelmingly powerful & moving, it brought me to tears,
*so so rich in history, so rich in love.
If they don’t appreciate it enough now, give it 10 years. This movie is gonna be in the next future “Scorsese or Lynch’s” top films that made them fall in love filmmaking.
I know it is for me.**
