Sinners

Had to rewatch amidst sinners four major academy award Oscar wins. Cried so hard. It never fails to remind me that being black is a privilege. How the academy failed to pick this masterpiece for Best Picture is another display of how they often recognize & celebrate our rhythm, & never our blues. Fitting, considering the plot of the movie, huh? While the Oscars, didn’t acknowledge Sinners to its fullest potential. I did. Replacing one of my favorite films ever made from my top 4, [*Kill Your Darlings], Sinners, *has impacted my life in such a way, that it not being apart of my top 4 felt like a crime against my person. Congratulations once again to the entire cast of sinners & now, OSCAR AWARD WINNING SCREENWRITER, Ryan Coogler & Academy Award “BEST LEAD ACTOR’ in a leading role recipient—first time Oscar winner, Michael B. Jordan. May you all continue to reap all your endless support & love from this beautiful film. & big shout out to Autumn Arkapaw [the films cinematographer] a black & filipina woman btw! making OSCAR HISTORY *being the first woman to ever* win the academy award for Best Cinematography. To be Young, Gifted, & Black. I just know Chadwick is so proud.
