Martin McDonagh comes in with a average score of 4.125

Martin McDonagh is a great modern director that manages to make entertaining movies that are funny for the mainstream audience as well as for the pretenious audience. His use of comedy is enhanced by his frequent colaboration with Colin Farell. In bruges and banshees of inisherin is almost equal in how much I like them. The two movies are not similar beacuse they have the two same lead actors. The characters of Colin farell and Brendan Gleeson are very diferent in the two movies and the dynamic between the two characters have little to no similarities. The similarity comes from how The two movies balances the drama and the comedy. To me Banshees just has some slightly more powerful and impactful moments than in Bruges. In three billboards mr McDonagh toned down the comedy to put the focus on the heavy, heavy drama. To me it feels like Mr McDonagh made the movie with the intent to win oscars and other awards. Seven psychopaths while it has some heavy themes goes for more for comedy and it desnt feel as realisitc as his other three movies. I might have to rewatch it though. The most impressive aspect of this director is that he managed to perfect his style in his deput deature film. I look forward to his next feature film but by the looks of it it seems like it takes 4-5 years for him to make a film. I should also watch some interviews with the dude since I only know him beacuse he is an auteur. I barley know what he looks like.
